Princess Elsa Marendal (also known as the Snow Queen), is the eldest daughter of King and Queen Arendal, Anna's older sister, who has supernatural powers to create ice and snow.
Elsa's character is loosely based on the character of the Snow Queen, a tale by Hans Christian Andersen published in 1845.
On the outside, Elsa looks like a balanced, majestic and restrained figure. But inside she lives with fears of her secret mighty power - the power to create ice and snow from everything she touches.
On the one hand it is a great force, but on the other hand it is very dangerous. She almost killed her little sister Anna using her magic when she touched her and froze her while playing.
In the movie "Frozen", Elsa retires to her room after hitting her sister Anna (who has recovered). After Anna and Elsa's parents die, during a ball at the palace (where Elsa wore gloves so as not to freeze anything) a quarrel takes place between Anna and Elsa where Elsa loses control from anger, freezes the palace and flees the kingdom to an ice palace she builds on a secluded mountain.
Elsa's birthday, according to Jennifer Lee, the screenwriter, falls on December 21, the middle of winter, which is the shortest day of the year (Winter Solstice), the day of the winter solstice. She tweeted about it on her Twitter. Elsa's sister, on the other hand, was born on June 21, the longest day of the year (Summer Solstice), the day of the turning point of summer.
