January 26 marks one of India's most important holidays, Republic Day. This day marks the entry into force of the Constitution of India in 1950, and the liberation of the country from British rule, the dream of Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters.

Republic Day is celebrated with parades, military demonstrations, pilots, speeches by the President of India and other impressive patriotic demonstrations.
